GRATITUDE: Annual Members’ Holiday Exhibition & Sale
Intimate, delicate, frail, my collage embodies a woman's vulnerability and sense of longing for wholeness in an environment so often determined to tear one apart.
She floats within a dovetailed natural cherry Vermont Hardwood frame.

WELCOME HOME
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, November 9th / 4 - 7 pm
“This deeply personal exhibition will take place in both of our galleries, Jane Street Art Center and The Sketchbook Gallery. This is an exhibition where the artist visually answers questions around what home is to them; the images, memories, dreams and feelings. This show is about a place; a place where you feel comfortable, the oddities and beauties of where you come from and where you feel at home. We focus on the intimate and often overlooked elements of “home” encouraging both artists and viewers to explore their connections to place in a nuanced way.”

'YOU'RE BREAKING UP'
ABOUT THE JUROR: “Since 1996, artist/curator Elizabeth Keithline’s work has focused on human self-extension. In 2005, while researching her solo show The Lost House Project, she noticed that many other artists were making work about the modern built environment and she decided to organize a group show to run alongside her solo effort. Since that time, it has become part of her practice to invite others to participate in a group show related to her solo shows. You’re Breaking Up will run alongside her solo effort, Breaking Broken, which will be exhibited at 11 Jane Street from Aug 10 – Sep 14, 2024.”

CONTEMPORARY ABSTRACTION NOW!
I am delighted to have two recent works included in this phenomenal show. Thank you Meredith, Drawing Galaxy, ASK, and fellow artists, for your love and continued support in making this event possible for us all!
“The 35 professional artists represented in this exhibition plunge
headlong into the mesmerizing world of abstraction. These individual
“portraits” of dialogue between artist and surface are their autographs
of observation, discovery and invention. These artists offer up revelry,
quiet grace, restless entanglements with drawn lines rough and tumble,
notably exact, tinged with perforation or zigzagged into repetitive
pattern, floating merrily in open space, densely layered into geometric
configurations or meandering lazily in tidy script. All of which can
carry their ideas of grace, tension, leisure, rage or sensitivity. Kindly
join us to view their new work in the spacious galleries of the Arts
Society of Kingston, ASK.”

2024 WINTER SMALL WORKS @ Woodstock Artists Association & Museum
Etching was a passion of mine for many years. Above is one of my smaller hand-pulled prints. Harboring an emotional breadth and depth rooted in my childhood, this has been a popular image, and only a handful remain from an edition of 25.
Print #5 has been archivally matted and framed for you in Vermont hardwood cherry. (By the artist…that’s me!)
I’m pleased to have chosen this piece from the archives for exhibition and availability in 2024 Winter Small Works at WAAM.
OPENING EVENT: Saturday, Jan. 20th / 4 - 6 pm
Contemporary Abstraction NOW!
Curator's Statement:
“My selection of the work on view reflects the diversity of 32 artists who plunge headlong in the mesmerizing world of abstraction. These individual “portraits” of dialogue between artist and surface are their autographs of observation, discovery and invention.
These artists offer up revelry, quiet grace, restless entanglements with drawn lines rough and tumble, notably exact, tinged with perforation. Zigzagged into repetitive pattern, floating merrily in open space, densely layered into geometric configurations or meandering lazily in tidy script.
Consider the raw materials employed by these artists in their abstract lives. Vying for attention are rivers of ink, strands of watercolor, fuzzy trails of graphite, thread stitched onto paper, wire plunging through space, pastel surges or superimposition of pencil. All of which can carry their ideas of grace, tension, leisure, rage or sensitivity.”
